An 80s kid
with a DeLorean
Hi, I'm Nick. You can't think of Back to the Future without the DeLorean, and you can't think of a DeLorean without that film. I've loved the car since the first time I saw it on screen.
2022 – the classic DMC-12
I imported my first DeLorean from California in 2022 – the classic one you can still hire today. I spent six months bringing it back to its original glory: every centimetre scrubbed, polished and refurbished.
2023 – the Time Machine
A classic DMC-12 was supposed to satisfy the craving. It only accelerated it. In August 2023 I bought a second DeLorean – an automatic with grey interior and no fuel flap in the bonnet – and it arrived from California that November.
Then came nine months and around 300 hours of work to turn it into one of the most screen-accurate time machines around. Hit 88 mph (or press the hidden button) and the time circuits change, the flux capacitor fluxes, the blue bands glow, smoke pours from the vents and the soundtrack blasts out. This is not one to miss.
Today
Both cars now go to weddings, proms, launches, comic cons and shows across the UK – always hosted by me, always fully insured. Along the way the Time Machine has been signed by Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Elizabeth Shue and more of the cast.
